What type of programmes do I cut?
If you need an editor to spend two days cutting a flashy thirty second promo, I am probably not your man. But if you want to tell a story and to take a viewer on an emotional journey with highs, lows, tears and laughter, please get in touch.
I am also a highly experienced sports editor and have cut lots of football highlights and features, often to very tight deadlines..
What are my attributes as an editor?
- Easy to get along with and a great communicator
- Fast, accurate and hard working
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Good understanding of the overall piece in terms of mood, pacing etc. whilst retaining attention to detail over pictures and sound
- Experienced at getting the best out of challenging, self shot material
- Knowledge of tapeless workflows in formats such as XDCAM
- Able to manage a project from source to screen if required, including final audio mix, grading and finishing
Experience
I worked for five years as a staff editor at ITV Yorkshire cutting news, sport and features, often to very tight deadlines. I edited the first series of the award winning ‘Rugby League Raw’ and regularly cut their regional football highlights programme ‘Goals on Sunday’
As a freelancer I have cut ob docs and factual entertainment for Granada Bristol, Atypical Media and Available Light Productions and have edited news at Sky News Australia and Channel 7 in Sydney.
I have spent lengthy spells at Liverpool FC TV cutting football highlights, features and full length documentaries. I have repackaged Premier League highlights for export to markets in the far east at ADI Productions and cut training drills from some of the worlds biggest clubs for leading website Inside Soccer.
